Accurate measurement of vehicle and object speed is essential for road safety, traffic monitoring, and research applications. Traditional speed detection systems are often bulky, expensive, and infrastructure-heavy, making them unsuitable for portable use or low-cost deployments. Modern requirements demand compact, wireless, and affordable speed detection solutions that can be easily deployed in both fixed and mobile scenarios.
This project introduces a portable Doppler radar–based speed detection system built using IndusBoard Coin and an HB100 millimetre-wave Doppler radar sensor. The system calculates speed by analysing the frequency shift in reflected radar signals caused by moving objects. Processed speed data is displayed in real time on a wireless web dashboard, which can be accessed directly from a smartphone or computer without requiring an internet connection.
