Human Safety Device

Vulnerable individuals such as the elderly, children, and people with medical conditions often lack immediate access to help during emergencies like falls, sudden health issues, or accidents—especially in outdoor or remote areas where internet connectivity may not be available.

This project presents a compact human safety device built using the IndusBoard Coin, integrating fall detection, health monitoring, location tracking, and GSM-based communication. The device automatically or manually triggers emergency alerts, sending real-time location and sensor data to predefined contacts via SMS, ensuring timely assistance without relying on the internet.

Key Features
  • MEMS-based fall detection with automatic SOS alerts
  • Temperature monitoring for early detection of health anomalies
  • GPS-based real-time location tracking
  • GSM-based SMS alerts for wide-area and remote coverage
  • Manual emergency button for user-initiated alerts
  • Audible buzzer for nearby alert indication
  • Compact, battery-powered, and portable design
Applications
  • Personal safety for elderly individuals and patients
  • Child safety and monitoring
  • Outdoor safety for travelers and workers
  • Emergency alert systems in remote or low-connectivity areas
  • Wearable or portable health and safety devices

By combining sensors, GPS, and GSM communication in a compact form factor, this human safety device delivers a reliable and practical solution for real-world emergencies. It demonstrates how embedded IoT systems can play a critical role in personal safety, with strong potential for future expansion into advanced health monitoring and connected caregiver platforms.
