IndusScope – Portable Smallest IoT Oscilloscope

Portable IoT Oscilloscope

Conventional oscilloscopes are bulky, heavy, and not always practical for working with microelectronics or compact setups. Carrying a full-sized oscilloscope for quick signal inspection, basic waveform visualization, or field diagnostics can be inconvenient and inefficient.

InduScope is a compact, IoT-enabled oscilloscope built using the IndusBoard Coin. It leverages the ESP32-S2’s ADC capabilities and a simple external conditioning circuit to capture AC and DC signals. With built-in Wi-Fi, InduScope streams real-time waveforms to a web interface accessible on phones, laptops, or smart TVs, eliminating the need for a traditional display unit.

Key Features
  • Ultra-compact, portable oscilloscope design
  • IoT connectivity with wireless waveform visualization
  • Web-based oscilloscope interface with real-time plotting
  • Adjustable time and voltage scales via sliders
  • AC/DC coupling support using a switchable capacitor
  • Extended input range up to ~33V DC and 220V AC (scaled)
  • Input protection using voltage divider and clamping diodes
  • Waveform capture and snapshot grid for analysis
Applications
  • Quick signal analysis during electronics prototyping
  • Educational use for learning waveform behavior and ADC sampling
  • Field diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Embedded and IoT development testing
  • Portable alternative for basic oscilloscope needs

InduScope transforms the ESP32-S2 into a practical, wireless oscilloscope that prioritizes portability and accessibility. While it doesn’t replace a high-end lab oscilloscope, it offers a powerful, compact solution for everyday signal visualization, making oscilloscopes more approachable for makers, students, and engineers alike.
